Visiting Students

SUNY ESF welcomes students from other institutions and the greater community to enroll in courses throughout the academic year, including during our summer session.

You are considered a Visiting Student if you are: 

  • Interested in taking a course at ESF, but are not pursuing a degree
  • Seeking to obtain credits toward your bachelor’s or master’s degree
  • Looking to advance your skillset  

Cross-Registered Students

  • Matriculated students at another SUNY campus.
  • Fall and Spring semesters only. 

Audit Students

  • Interested in taking a course, but don’t need to earn credit.
  • Fall and Spring semesters only. 

Senior Audit Students

  • New York State resident 60 years or older.
  • Fall and Spring semesters only.
  • Limited to non-matriculated students only.
  • Excludes enrollment in field, lab, studio, and online courses. 

High School Students

  • Rising high school juniors and seniors.
  • 100 and 200 level undergraduate courses only.
  • Must meet prerequisite requirements.
  • Fall, Spring, and Summer semesters.  
 

Registration

Visiting students must submit a registration form as your intent to enroll in a course. After you register, your enrollment will be confirmed via email.  

The registration form will be updated for the current semester. We are currently accepting registration for Summer 2024.  

Register

Registration for Fall 2024 will open in late July.
